Monday, April 1

Grad Studies Swag & Snacks
10 a.m.
William Pitt Union, 524, Graduate Student Lounge

Kick off the first day of Graduate and Professional Student Appreciation Week by visiting the Graduate Student Lounge on the fifth floor of the William Pitt Union any time after 10 a.m.! The first 50 students to arrive will receive a Graduate Studies bucket hat. Enjoy a few snacks courtesy of the Graduate Studies team (while supplies last)!

Pitt Three Minute Thesis (3MT) Competition
Noon–2 p.m.     
Hillman Library, Archives & Special Collections Room, 3rd Floor

The 3MT competition celebrates the exciting research conducted by Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) and Doctor of Juridical Science (SJD) students. Developed by The University of Queensland (UQ), 3MT cultivates students’ academic, presentation, and research communication skills. The competition supports their capacity to effectively explain their research in three minutes in a language appropriate to a non-specialist audience.

Co-sponsored by the Office of the Provost and University Library System with support from the University Center for Teaching and Learning.

Enjoy donuts with Interim Vice Provost for Student Affairs and Dean of Students Carla Panzella on the William Pitt Union lawn. (Donuts, coffee and tea are available on a first-come, first-served basis.)

Enjoy self-care and conversation with Dr. Alydia Thomas, associate director of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, Graduate Studies.

Join Vice Provost Dr. Godley in The Understory (CL B50) for an afternoon sweet treat and a paper marbling activity hosted by the Center for Creativity.
